Freedom

Freedom

Iraj Jabbari’s Woman in the Wind; monochrome photography of a woman with a flowing veil and birds in flight.

Freedom is a word that tastes sweet but is often misunderstood

It can have several interpretations

All ultimately translating into one thing

Having complete power over yourself

Real power is knowing you can do something

But choosing not to

Exercising restraint

Refusing to play your hand

Allowing time to do its bidding

You choose to be free

Free from what you fear

Free from what you desire

Free from any illusion

And free from all identity

Freedom

From yourself

What does freedom mean to you

and yet

are we ever truly free
